Robotic kidney stone crushing surgery was performed for the first time at Bursa Uludag University (BUU) Hospital.
BUU Hospital Urology Department, the leading healthcare institution in the South Marmara Region, has achieved another important medical success. The team led by Prof. Dr. Hakan Kılıçarslan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kadir Ömür Günseren and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Çağatay Çiçek performed robotic kidney stone crushing surgery for the first time in Bursa.
ROBOTIC SURGERY FACILITATES BOTH SURGERY AND TREATMENT
Making a statement after the operation, Prof. Dr. Hakan Kılıçarslan drew attention to the potential of robotic surgery technology in kidney stone treatment. Prof. Dr. Kılıçarslan; "The successful performance of this operation has once again proved the innovative approach and expertise of our university in the field of medicine. Robotic surgery allows surgeons to work more precisely, improving the treatment process of patients. The surgery using robotic surgery technology aims to increase the precision and effectiveness of surgical interventions, as well as providing a less invasive treatment option for patients. While this new method helps patients recover faster, it also aims to reduce the risk of postoperative pain and complications by increasing stone-free success."
Pointing out that this medical success is a reflection of the university's investments in the field of health and the quality of the expert staff, Prof. Dr. Hakan Kılıçarslan said that robotic surgery technology, which allows patients to experience a more effective and comfortable treatment experience, draws attention as an example of developments in the medical world.
ENTIRE PROCESS PLANNED THANKS TO TECHNOLOGY
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kadir Ömür Günseren, on the process from the planning to the implementation of the surgery; "A detailed planning was carried out using robotic surgery technology before the surgery. In this way, the steps required during the operation were determined in advance and the operation process was more efficient. We focused on our patient's health and were extremely satisfied with the result.
